John J. Chan, CPA

John Chan is the principal owner of John J. Chan, CPA. He is a graduate of Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand majoring in Economics and Accounting. His experience includes working as a cost accountant with Pfizer International, Bangkok, Thailand. In 1979, he moved to San Diego and started his public accounting career working for a local accounting firm. He received his CPA designation in 1986 and started his own practice in 1988 serving clients and businesses in San Diego and surrounding communities. John has more than thirty years of experience assisting small business owners and individuals with their financial, accounting, tax preparation and planning needs.

He takes pride in being accessible and responsive to clients’ specific needs and adhering to the highest standards of service and professional ethics.  He works with clients on a personal level to determine the best solution for their unique needs, and then couples it with his expertise to achieve the best possible results.

John is a member of the following organizations – California Society of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of Tax Consultants, Southern California Tax Professionals, and National Society of Tax Professionals.
